FORT WORTH (CBSDFW.COM) – A North Texas family looking for justice in their own way after the Grinch made an early appearance.
“To the person that stole our Christmas decorations,” reads Kristine Collins from a poster she made in Saginaw “Thank you for breaking a little girls heart.”
On November first, as they’ve done for years, the family puts out their Christmas decorations.
“We had candy canes all the way around the walkway,” describes Collins “There were two big spiral Christmas trees and one of those light up deer’s.”
But a Grinch took all that away over the weekend.
“When I saw it first – thank god – I was the first one outside because I saw it and I just started crying,” explains Collins.
When Collins’ 6 year old daughter Hallie found out she couldn’t help but cry.
“It break my heart,” says Hallie softly as she holds on to her mother.
It was that heartbreak that lead the mother to put the sign.
“I wanted the people to know that I know what they did,” says Collins “It just breaks my heart that’s pretty much it.”
She says she won’t put out any more decorations, but her sign will stay.
Collins hopes whoever was responsible will pay attention to the very last words which read “We will pray for you.”
Saginaw police say there haven’t been any other similar reports.
An Detective tells CBS 11 that it’s still pretty early and not everyone has decorations up yet.
