NAVARRO COUNTY, Texas – Police are on the scene of a shooting that sent a 5-year-old boy to the hospital.
It happened in rice earlier this evening. Authorities said a sibling, also a child, shot the boy in the face with a 22-caliber rifle.
He was careflighted to a Dallas-area hospital his condition is unknown. Authorities do not expect to file any charges.
Investigators are in the early stages of the investigation and are working to determine all of the unknowns; where the gun was stored, was it accessible to the children, were their parents at home.
