The venue — which serves as the home pitch for FC Dallas — was chosen as one of 13 host sites for the tournament, which will be played throughout the U.S. from July 7-26.
The tournament takes place every two years and determines the regional champion of North America, Central America, and the Caribbean.
Toyota Stadium will host the national team on July 7, 2015, as part of a Group A doubleheader.
“We are thrilled to play our opening game of the CONCACAF Gold Cup in Frisco,” said U.S. Men’s National Team head coach Jurgen Klinsmann. “Winning the tournament is the number one priority for the senior National Team in 2015, so it’s important that we get started on the right foot. It’s a great stadium and there’s a tremendous tradition for soccer in the area, so we’re hoping to get huge support from all our fans.”
