FORT WORTH (KRLD) — The holiday season is upon us, and there’s no shortage of events around DFW to enjoy with your family! Tasha Stevens brings you some of the best!
— He is everybody’s favorite reindeer, and you can see him Thursday night. Check out Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer at the Majestic.
— The 1st ever Jack’s Ugly Christmas Sweater party is Thursday night at Bryan Street Tavern on Bryan Street in Dallas. They’ll have tasty treats, drinks, and a freaky, live, elf on the shelf.
— If you are out of school or off work this week and looking for something cool to do, go by the George W. Bush Presidential Center at SMU for the “All Creatures Great and Small: Christmas at the White House 2002” exhibit. Now through January 13, all of us animal lovers can go back in time to 2002 when the White House Christmas theme celebrated the important role animals play in the White House. Highlights include replicas of First Family pets that were displayed throughout the White House, and the first edition of Barney Cam, a cool tradition through all of the President and Mrs. Bush’s time in Washington, DC. Barney was the Bush’s Scottish terrier.
— Now through December 31, you can check out “Celebrate Silver and Gold: The 22nd Irving ISD Annual Holiday Exhibition” at Irving Arts Center. This exhibit is actually part of the “Peruvian Gold: Ancient Treasures Unearthed” exhibit so here is your chance to see them both in one trip. See how much time I am saving you?
— If photography is your thing, check out the “Defined by Light: Photography’s First 75 Years” exhibit now through Friday at SMU. The latest DeGolyer Library exhibit begins with materials from before the invention of photography and ends in the 20th century.
— At the Dallas Arboretum, you can visit with Santa and a live reindeer this Sat. and Sun., 12-4 p.m. as well as next Tues., Dec. 23, 12-4 p.m.
