DALLAS (CBSDFW.COM) – The iconic Lakewood Theater may once again have big screens inside.

Built in 1938, the historic venue may operate as an Alamo Drafthouse in the future.

Sources told CBS11 News that Drafthouse officials are eyeing the art deco building in East Dallas.

Although officials won’t confirm or deny they are looking to take over Lakewood — they have said they wouldn’t alter the marquee or tower on the theater if they buy the theater.
