MESQUITE (CBSDFW.COM) – A Mesquite man accused of lying to the FBI about pledging his allegiance to the terror group ISIS will stay locked up for now.
A federal judge ruled today Balil Abood is a danger to the community and poses a risk to flee the country.
The FBI arrested him Thursday.
Agents said they asked Abood last month if he supported the ISIS leader, and he said no.
But investigators said in fact, they found a tweet Abood sent last year pledging his support for ISIS.
Prosecutors now have 30 days to present their case to a grand jury to indict him.
