MIDLAND (1080 KRLD) – A West Texas man is acquitted in a bizarre peacock squabble.
Dr. George Lohmann of Midland loves his beautiful peacocks but his neighbors don’t. They claim the peacocks soil their property.
Dr. Lohmann says, “They’ve been here for 70 years. These people weren’t. They chose to move here.”
The city stepped in and said their amended ordinance for regulating at large roaming pets and livestock..include fowl.
Dr. Lohmann says animal control would drive around his property, “Four times during the day, taking pictures. ”
After a bunch of citations, he went to court and was found not guilty.
As far as the idea of putting up a peacock crossing sign Dr. Lohman says, “No, but I think probably the city should.”
