AUSTIN (AP) — A South Texas man has been sentenced to 12 years in prison for a string of bank robberies along the Interstate 35 corridor between Austin and San Antonio.
Willie James Cleveland of San Antonio was sentenced Wednesday in federal court in Austin.
San Antonio police arrested Cleveland on April 20. He pleaded guilty in July to two counts of bank robbery with a dangerous weapon and acknowledged nine holdups since February.
Investigators say banks were robbed in San Antonio, Austin, San Marcos and New Braunfels.
