DALLAS (CBSDFW.COM) – Trick-or-treating is going high tech this year. Gone are the days kids had to discover the best houses to get candy through trial and error. There are now apps for that.
People with NextDoor accounts can check out the social network’s “treat map.” Anyone handing out candy, can add their address to the map in your neighborhood. NextDoor has the treat map on its app, too, so you can take it through the neighborhood with you.
Target has launched Treatster, which lists the must-visit trick or treat houses in your neighborhood. The app takes user generated votes to give houses a score. Trick or treaters mark the best houses in the neighborhood with a pumpkin. The more votes a house receives, the larger the pumpkin appears on the app.
