KEMP (CBSDFW.COM) — The City of Kemp Public Works Department is advising residents to boil their water before consuming it.
Due to a 10-inch main water line break, residents need to boil any water they plan to use for consumption — such as in cooking, coffee or tea — according to a public notice posted on the city’s website. The advisory is in effect until further notice, the city said.
Water should be brought to a rolling boil, and then boiled for two minutes, according to the notice. Or residents can buy bottled water or find it from another “suitable source.”
The city said it issued the notice in accordance with requirements from the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality.
