ALVARADO (CBSDFW.COM) – The city of Alvarado decided not to take any disciplinary action against Captain Gary Melson, who’s accused of sending a youth coach to jail.

Melson allegedly confronted, then arrested coach Jessica Curs at a basketball game between third-graders. Curs filed a lawsuit claiming the coach, wife and mother was assaulted, battered, falsely imprisoned, and maliciously prosecuted, among other things.

An investigation by the CBS 11’s I-Team resulted in the criminal case being dropped. Johnson County Attorney Bill Moore told the I-Team, “Your reporting caused us to take a closer look at the case. Just based on a thorough review of it, I don’t think an offense was committed.”
