WASHINGTON (AP) — Representative Blake Farenthold says a harassment lawsuit filed by a former staffer has been dismissed.
Lauren Greene, a former communications director in the congressman’s office, alleged in a lawsuit last year that she was sexually harassed and fired soon after she complained of a hostile work environment.
Farenthold, a Republican first elected to Texas’s 27th congressional district in 2010, said at the time that he expected to be vindicated.
A one-paragraph “joint stipulation of dismissal” was filed in federal court in Washington on Wednesday. It says the case will be dismissed “pursuant to an agreement of the parties.”
Farenthold said in a statement Wednesday that he had always denied wrongdoing and was “glad to put this behind me and move forward.”
