RICHARDSON (CBSDFW.COM) – Due to work to repair a gas leak, the middle and outside southbound lanes of Coit Road between Chickasaw Drive and Seminole Drive (just south of J.J. Pearce High School) are closed to traffic.
The lanes will remain closed until repairs are completed, which is expected to be by Thursday afternoon, according to a city news release.
The city says the gas line was damaged when a rock slipped through the protective liner and created the small break.
As of Wednesday afternoon the leak has been repaired but work still remains to cover the affected section of Coit Road with asphalt and then cement.
Electronic road signs are in place to inform drivers of the lane closures.
Drivers are encouraged to use alternate routes while the road is being repaired.
