SAN ANTONIO (AP) — A man facing an attempted capital murder charge for shooting a police officer during a traffic stop was sentenced to life imprisonment for shooting at San Antonio officers during a multi-county chase.

KSAT-TV of San Antonio reports a Bexar (BEAR) County jury deliberated less than two hours in San Antonio before sentencing Robert Rendon to life imprisonment for aggravated assault of a police officer during the April 19, 2014, chase.

Rendon awaits trial in Gillespie County for the shooting of Officer Bradley Durst during a Fredericksburg traffic stop earlier in the evening.
