DALLAS (105.3 The Fan) – Mavericks power forward, Dwight Powell, will represent his home nation of Canada in the Rising Stars Challenge at All-Star Weekend.

Powell, a native of Toronto, has been named to the World Team for the rookie-sophomore game that takes place on the Friday before the All-Star Game at the Air Canada Centre.

Powell is averaging 6.8 points, 4.8 rebounds and 17.0 minutes in 45 games this season.

He becomes the first player to represent the Mavericks in the annual game since Devin Harris played in it in 2006.
