DALLAS (CBSDFW.COM) – A huge lead for John Wiley Price late Tuesday night had him declaring victory at his party.

The Dallas County Commissioner has yet to lose an election in 30 years.

Price says voters in his District 3 did not fall for the antics from his opponent, former Dallas City Councilman Dwaine Caraway.

Price is the political dean of Dallas County government, and despite a criminal indictment the voters of his district haven given him a hefty lead.

“I just want to thank all of my volunteers, all of those who are not dissuaded by the gimmicks. They understand governance, and they understand we provided governance for the past 30 years,” said Price.
