BENBROOK (CBSDFW.COM) – Benbrook Police released the arrest warrants for Sofya Tsygankova who left the hospital for the the Tarrant County Jail Tuesday.

According to the warrants, the girls’ father, world famous pianist Vadym Kholodenko, had come to pick up his children and take them to school when he found them dead.

Kholodenko called police and told them his wife was, “going crazy and covered in blood.”

When police arrived they found the girls’ mother in a blood-stained night gown rocking back and forth.  Police said she had a puncture wound to her chest and a cut on the inside of her wrist.

According to the arrest affidavit, police found toddler, Michela and her 5-year-old sister, Nika in separate bedrooms, face down on the beds.  Both were cold to the touch and showed signs of rigor mortis.

Investigators questioned the children’s mother at JPS Hospital.  Tsygankova told them, “I committed suicide.”  She “remembered taking pills.”  Police said she also remembered at some point taking a knife outside because she “didn’t see any future for her and the kids.”

The mother asked investigators if she had done anything bad to her children.  They said she appeared not to remember.

Police said they also noticed an empty prescription bottle on the kitchen counter that was filled the day before for a medication often used to treat mental illnesses such as Schizophrenia and Bipolar Disorder.
