ANNA (CBS11) – Police want parents to take a good look at what may be the face of a kidnapper targeting Collin County kids.

For weeks parents have worried about a man approaching children, but until now we’ve only had a vague description. Anna Police released an artist’s rendition fitting the description provided by the little girl who was approached in Anna on January 28.

It was just down the street from Teresa Neeley’s home where the 10-year-old girl on a skateboard says a man drove up to her and tried to lure her into his van by offering her a brownie.

“It makes me worry every day. It’s like, can you let them go to school? Are they going to be safe? Are they going to come home,” Neeley said.

Neeley’s own daughter is 11, and the attempted kidnapping along with similar reports in Melissa and Van Alstyne have led parents to have important conversations with their children.

“Just don’t go near people that you don’t really know, and just stay away ’cause unless they’re your friends just don’t bother with other people,” Alexis Neeley said.

Police released the sketch they say only applies to the Anna incident, but the image matches the suspect description in the other cases, and Teresa Neeley says the sketch is a big improvement over vague descriptions released up to this point.

“Well I mean everybody’s on the web talking, social media, and stuff like that, and I mean you can’t really know what’s credible and what’s not,” Teresa Neeley said.

“Just looked at Facebook and saw that sketch and thought, oh my gosh, now we actually have something,” Meredith Blair said.

Blair lives in the same neighborhood and hopes the sketch will help focus the public’s attention on the right person.

“I think having that sketch out there, we are all eyes for each other,” Blair said.

Anna Police tell us since the release of the sketch they have already started receiving more leads from the public, and they encourage anyone who has any information to contact your local law enforcement.
