GRAND PRAIRIE (CBSDFW.COM) – A small, private plane made an emergency landing outside an apartment complex on Arkansas Lane just down the street from the Grand Prairie Police Department around 3:30 p.m. Saturday.

Police say the pilot is fine and no one on the ground was injured.

According to police, the pilot reported engine problems shortly after takeoff and attempted to return to the airport.

The plane was towed back to the Grand Prairie Municipal Airport.

The FAA is investigating.
