LAS COLINAS (CBSDFW.COM) -Las Colinas has a contemporary new addition in its University Hills area park.

The Las Colinas Parks Foundation dedicated a new statue in ‘Sculpture in the Park’ Tuesday afternoon.

The park has been developed during the past six years and features a group of sculptures.

“‘Sculpture in the Park’ is a demonstration project to show the impact of public art on surrounding properties,” says foundation president Heinz Simon. ”

The new statue was designed by Robert Glen, sculptor of the famous Mustangs of Las Colinas.

“We want to recognize the impact of such an endeavor for our entire city,” said Irving Mayor Beth Van Duyne. “Public art such as ‘Sculpture in the Park’ enriches the intrinsic value of the property.”
