PANTEGO (CBSDFW.COM) – Just blocks from Pantego’s police station a father left his 6-month-old daughter in his car as he went into work.

Police say around 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, 30 minutes into his work day, the baby’s mother arrived and asked the child’s father about their daughter.

The couple ran to the car, got him out and took her inside her father’s workplace.

By the time paramedics arrived the baby’s core temperature had dropped to 99.4.

Still red-faced paramedics took her to Cook Children’s Hospital.

Police say as paramedics left, the baby was playing and her temperature had returned to normal.
