Remember how you use to drive by Mrs. Baird’s Bread and the smell would envelope your senses?   That is exactly what happens as the smell of hickory smoke entices you into Wildwood in Southlake.

Wildwood became known for our steaks because of cooking over that oak and hickory” said owner of Wildwood Dave Garner.

Dave and his wife Mary got tired of the corporate world and made Southlake their home after eighteen years in the corporate world.  Along with their two sons they created the Wildwood signature taste and menu in their backyard.

“We had oak and hickory on the grill outside and we had a smoker in the backyard.  We literally sampled and played with the menu for nearly four months before we opened in 2009” Garner added.

After seven wonderful years, they have just freshened the interior look as well as the menu.  Their smoked ribs, chicken, steaks and seafood are legendary.

“We added things like a Barnyard Burger, a Portabella Chicken Stack which is a chicken sandwich that’s nearly four inches tall” Garner said with a smile.

Add to the wonderful menu an ever widening selection of craft brews and even craft whiskeys and you have the new Wildwood – Smoke – Craft – Whiskey.
