La Teisha Johnson said she took her four toddlers inside of Little Learners Daycare when she came outside to see a stranger holding her purse.

“I yelled at her to drop it and then beat on the windows when she drove away,” said Johnson.

The Daycare Director, Reginald Thompson, caught the attempted theft on surveillance video. He said he immediately contacted Allen Police and was shocked to learn other area daycares had reported similar incidents.

“Police told me that this had already happened three times today and we were the fourth spot,” said Thompson.

Police have not made any arrests but said that if anyone recognizes the person in the surveillance video to contact police immediately.

They said they believe the four crimes might be connected.

Johnson said she considers herself lucky but she learned a tough lesson.

“Some people leave their door (open) or car running to just drop off their kids quickly but you can’t do that you have to lock your doors,” said Johnson.

CBSDFW highlighted the same type of crime happening in Southlake back in March.
