TEXAS (CBSDFW.COM) — The former voice of the beloved Big Tex, Bill Bragg, died Saturday at 72.

Bragg became the voice of the Big Tex in 2002 and greeted Texas state fair attendees until 2013.

“He was larger than life and will be missed,” the State Fair of Texas said in a statement. “Our condolences to his family and loved ones.”

His cause of death has not been released at this time.
