DALLAS (CBSDFW.COM) — Dallas police said an armed man who was “shooting randomly” in the air hid under a DART train while fleeing from officers Friday evening.

Just before 6:15 p.m., DART police responded to a report of an active shooter near the intersection of Lancaster Road and Ledbetter Drive near Oak Cliff.

DART officials said he went under the train to hide from officers.

After DPD and DART officers surrounded the man, Dallas Fire Rescue removed him from under the train.

He has since been placed under arrest by DPD and the area has returned to normal, DART officials said.
