Off with the winter coats and boots, spring is here — which means it’s time to spruce up your wardrobe with some of the season’s freshest styles. For a little inspiration, we consulted with one of Dallas’ trendiest ladies, Leah Frazier, fashion editor at DFW Style Daily—to get her take on what’s chic on the streets for ladies and gents this spring season.

Not only is Leah Frazier an editor for DFW Style Daily, DFW’s leading online fashion journal, she’s also the owner of Diamond Icon Styling Consultants, a company specializing in personal shopping, fashion styling and image consulting. When she’s not rubbing elbows with the likes of Gwyneth Paltrow, Nicky Hilton and Ivanka Trump, she’s interviewing designers and scouting the runways to get the scoop on what’s hot and what’s not. For spring, Frazier breaks down the key styles of the season and where you can find them in DFW.

All White EverythingFrom head to toe, white will be the go-to color for this season, says Frazier. While channeling this neutral shade for spring may seem fairly obvious, it’s more about mixing and matching different variations of white, along with unique textures that will make this trend fun. Frazier suggests trying a monochromatic look by blending both white and ivory shades. Then pop the look with 2015’s color of the year, Marsala, or by introducing a softer spring tone of this wine-inspired hue into the mix. Frazier says that men’s trends will also embody more whites, thus creating a sleek appearance and clean aesthetic.
The Flat SandalLadies can be both stylish and comfortable this spring as the flat sandal will overpower wedges and heels at retailers. Frazier’s go-to store for spring sandals is Belk in the Galleria. The store carries a great selection of flattering flats with everything from blingy and embellished sandals to ones that are sneaker influenced.
Even More FringeAs witnessed in most all of the spring 2015 runway shows, the fringe trend is back in a big way for spring, and it’s showing up on everything from accessories and apparel to handbags and shoes. Dallas-based label Tinsley Radix offers a great selection of both boho-chic apparel and fringe handbags that are right on point for stylish trendsetters. Related: Best DFW Fashion Blogs

Prints and Patterns GaloreSpring’s hottest trends have paved the way to go full-on with print blocking by mixing and matching bold prints and patterns to make an eye-catching style statement. Dallas-based brand NeoBantu boasts a stunning and affordable collection of vibrant African-inspired Ankara print apparel that’s ideal for achieving this look. Men too can join in for a bit of pattern play, says Frazier. She suggests checking out the custom-created blazers and dress shirts from Dallas-based brand Persona Custom Clothier.
Sportif Athletic TrendSpotted down Fashion Week runways and most recently in Dallas by designers who showcased at Fashion X Dallas, the sportif trend is leading the pack. It’s all about comfort and the fact that fashion should transition easily from the gym to everyday life. Frazier says that designers are now opting to create apparel in fabrics such as mesh, scuba and jersey that not only looks good while working out, but can easily pair well with jeans, a pair of pumps or statement accessories. Dallas-based brand Warrior Elements channels this trend exceptionally well with collections that are not only functional for the gym, but also look good enough to wear as separates for a night out on the town.
