Katy TrailsFor people looking for the best bike trails in the DFW and also want a perfect place for nature watching, the Katy Trails is the perfect option. This bike trail is located in Uptown and bikers can ride past many of the favorite hangout spots, but also get into the nature part of the trail for perfect scenery. The Katy Trail is open and perfect for bicyclists, joggers, and walkers alike, as well as beginners and enthusiasts. It is important to watch out when crossing streets as there is a bit of traffic. When on the Katy Trail, bikers should keep to the left and walkers and runners to the right. This is a 3.5-mile bike trail in the DFW area.

Santa Fe TrailsThe Santa Fe Trails is a 4.2 mile part of the Dallas trails system that actually connects multiple parks in the area. This is perfect for biking in Dallas, with a concrete surface located in the lower east side of Dallas, sitting on a former railroad right of way. This connects the Union Pacific Trail to the White Rock Lake Park Loop Trail. There are even some restaurants along the way to stop for a breather and a quick bite to eat.

White Rock TrailsLocated at White Rock Lake, the White Rock Trails is one of the most scenic of all the bike trails in the DFW area. This is a huge area, checking in at about nine miles in East Dallas. People who are riding their bikes on these trails have the Sunset Bay and Arboretum has scenery to enjoy while out on a peaceful or energetic bike ride. There is also a shared trail. This means that bikers can stick to the main path or they can head out on the lesser traveled paths, meaning more scenic beauty to behold and possibly a more peaceful ride.

Arbor Hills Nature CenterThe Arbor Hills Nature Center has a great bike trail in the DFW area for anyone looking for more nature scenery and shading during their ride. This is a perfect bike trail in the DFW area for both beginning bike riders as well as more experienced cyclists and sends both on a beautiful journey through the Arbor Hulls Nature Center pathways, filled with fountains and foliage. This bike trail is located in North Texas and there are even some nice pavilions to stop and take a rest at to take in the beautiful surroundings.

Oak Cliff Nature CenterThe Oak Cliff Nature Preserve is a beautiful stretch of land that was designated for preservation by the Texas Land Conservatory. There are bike trails here that were developed by the Dallas Off-Road Bicycle Association, but the eight miles are shared multiple-use trails, so be careful or walkers, hikers and runners. There seems to be even more miles than the eight, as the trail was made with loops to increase the riding time, but the trail is shaded to help beat that very hot summer Texas sun.
